What to Expect

We want your first experience at The Journey Online to be relaxed and for you and your family to enjoy the service.  So, here is some information to help you know what to expect.

What times are the services?

The Journey meets In-Person on Sundays at 11:00am, and Online on Sundays at 9am, 11am, 1pm (plus additional online service times).  The service lasts just over an hour.  We encourage you to arrive 10-15 minutes early, especially if you have young children.  This will give you plenty of time to check your children into JourneyKidz and for you to find a good seat in the auditorium prior to the service starting.

Where is The Journey?

The Journey Sunday 11am Service is located at:

The AMC Empire 25 Times Square
234 W 42nd Street
(between 7th & 8th Aves - closer to 8th Ave on the south side of 42nd Street)

Convenient to ALL Times Square Subways and the PATH Trains.  Across the street from the Port Authority.
Covid-19 Safety Precautions:
- Hand Sanitizer & Extra Masks Available
- All spaces and surfaces have been cleaned and sanitized
- We will follow the guidance and procedures of the CDC and AMC.
Right now for New York City, the CDC is recommending masks for all in-door activities in NYC.
- Volunteers and staff will be wearing masks

*Currently you will need to show proof of vaccination to access the AMC Theater and all in-door public spaces in NYC.

What should I do when I arrive?

When you arrive, you will find clear signage and our friendly volunteers there to help direct you. If you have children ages birth through 5th grade, then just follow the signs to our Journey Kids check-in area in the main lobby.

You will receive a program and a pen on your way into the service.  This program will include message notes, important information, and a connection card, which you will turn in at the end of the service.

And on your way in, if you have questions, just look for one of our courteous volunteers in a Journey t-shirt. They’re easy to spot and always happy to help!

What are the messages like?

Our goal every Sunday is to teach the timeless truths of the Bible in a way that is engaging and applicable to your life. You will find that the messages are practical, easy to understand, and grounded in Scripture.

To help you get the most out of the message, you can download the message notes each week by clicking the blue "Download Message Notes" button below the LiveStream player. You can print them out, or follow along and take notes in Word, Pages, or Google Docs.

What about the music?

The music at The Journey is upbeat, modern, and uplifting!  The Journey features a live band with electric guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums every week. We sing modern songs of faith, but you might also hear a Top 40 song or a classic hymn. Think your favorite rock station with a twist.

What's available for my kids?

The Journey offers a clean, safe and exciting children’s program during the worship service for your children, birth to 5th grade.

As you enter the main lobby, you will see the JourneyKidz check-in area.

At check-in, you will meet one of our fully-trained and background-checked JourneyKidz Team members who will help you check your child in.

During check-in, you will receive a security tag, which you will need to pick up your child after the service.  This helps us know that you are the person authorized to pick up your child.

JourneyKidz is staffed solely by members in good standing at The Journey, who have been background checked and receive ongoing training to make your children’s experience the best it can be!

During Journey Kids, your children will experience fun Bible lessons, activities and games to help them build a spiritual foundation.

Simply stated: we want this to be the best hour of your child’s week!

Not Ready to Return to In-Person Services Yet?

If you aren't quite ready to come back in person, you can still attend church online.

Church Online services begin Sunday @ 9am, 11am, 1pm plus additional times, including Saturday service options at 5pm or 7pm

What's available during the week?

During the week, The Journey's Growth Groups meet online and at convenient locations throughout NYC.  Growth Groups are groups of 15-20 people who join together to study the Bible, grow spiritually, meet new people and have fun.

Growth Groups last 10-12 weeks, so it's a short-term commitment.  Growth Group sign-ups occur 3 times per year (January, May, September).
