The Year in Pictures

This fall The Journey celebrated 23 years as a church in New York City. We’ve got so much to be thankful for.  Thank you for all you do – for praying, giving, serving, and inviting your friends. You make The Journey a special place to be!

God has been growing our church over the past year - so much so that we needed to add a 3rd worship service! The Journey meets for services every Sunday at 10:00am, 11:30am, & 1:00pm  in Times Square at the spacious AMC Empire 25 Theater.

In 2025 we baptized 188 people as a church. In the history of The Journey, over 3,800 people have taken the step of obedience! It’s incredible to think about the thousands of lives impacted by Jesus Christ through our church. Thank you God for using us!

87 people were baptized at our Annual Beach Baptisms this summer.  What a memorable summer!

In 2025 we took our annual mission trip to South Africa to serve the at-risk children served by Hope Schools. Through your giving to the Above & Beyond Special Offering, we are able to support this incredible ministry financially as well.

The Journey kicked off our Above & Beyond Special Offering in November with the God-sized goal of $247,000 to support GLOBAL MISSIONS and New Churches, REACH OUR CITY for Jesus Christ, serve the MOST VULNERABLE in our City, help THOSE HURTING in our Church and Beyond, and to invest in the NExT GENERATION. Journey volunteer teams serve Free Lunch in the Park to the less fortunate on the Lower East Side through Graffiti Community Ministries.  We had volunteer teams serving with Graffiti monthly in 2025!

This fall during our Sunday services & in our Growth Groups, we took major steps in developing Godly character through our Character Counts series. We grew in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We’re going to be a stronger church because of it!

What a year in Journey Kidz! The number of families being reached for Christ is growing, and God has more than doubled our Kidz Team in the past year. From 3 different Child Dedication Sundays, to our Fall Festival, to the launch of our new curriculum – our Journey Kidz Team is impacting the next generation for Jesus!

We have seen incredible growth in our Youth Ministry this year - praise God! Every Wednesday, an incredible group of teens meet at our Faith & Life Center to engage God's Word together, serve, together, fellowship together, and grow together. This fall, we had our strongest youth group yet!

Growth Groups are the heartbeat of The Journey – and this fall we had close to 700 people plugged into one of our Character Counts Growth Groups. There’s no better place to meet great people, learn about the Bible, and go deeper in your faith. Sign-ups for our Spring Growth Groups begin in January!

Every month Journey volunteers were serving meals and giving toiletries and other supplies to the homeless in NYC through the Relief Bus in the South Bronx and East Harlem.

Over 100 people took part in our Walk Thru the Bible: New Testament LIVE seminars! Together, we learned how to dig into the full story of the New Testament from beginning to end in fun & engaging ways.

Thanks to the generosity of members in our church, we were able to bless 40 families with a turkey this Thanksgiving! Another member was so moved by this act of generosity, that we were also able to bless an additional 16 families with Visa gift cards this Christmas. So many lives were blessed by The Journey's generosity!

The Journey’s Worship Arts Team has taken it to the next level in leading our worship services every weekend in Times Square. Plus, they have put together some incredible creative pieces just for Church Online. There’s a place for you on our Worship Arts Team!

The Journey has seen a great group of individuals commit to making The Journey their church home by taking one of our 5 Membership Class 101's in 2025!

In December, The Journey prepped and delivered Christmas presents to every inmate at Rikers Island Prison. We gave 7,500 pairs of socks, 1,000 pencils, and 200 copies of Unshakable. Your giving to the Above & Beyond Special Offering helps us show God’s love in some incredible ways!

Started by a former KGB agent whose life was radically transformed by Jesus – the Moscow Seminary has a goal of training new pastors to start churches in all of the nations of the former Soviet Union. You can support this ministry by your giving to the Above & Beyond Special Offering.

In August our church donated enough school supplies to help less fortunate inner-city families on the Lower East Side be prepared for the beginning of the school year. Nearly 1 in 5 NYC children live in poverty.

At The Journey, we love showing God’s love to New Yorkers in practical ways through servant evangelism. In 2025, we showed God’s love by serving people with granola bars and invites to Easter, God on Film, and the Character Counts: Living the Fruit of the Spirit teaching series. Expect to see more opportunities to serve our city in this way in 2026!

In 2025, we launched our Biblical Legacy Planning ministry - a ministry that we offer the members of our church to help plan their financial legacy.
